It’s Been Awhile, But Epic Adventures Await!

Dear Lincoln,

Today is June 13th, in fact Friday the 13th and I just realized that I haven’t written to you since January.  JANUARY??  REALLY? That’s inexcusable.  I mean it’s not like I haven’t had time.  There’s plenty of time in a day, between working, the honey-do list from Nana, church, early morning quiet time with the Lord, writing on my other blog, there is still time to write to you.  Oh wait, did I mention that from the time I get up, or get home, you and I are on a non-stop adventure.  As a matter of fact I don’t get time to write for either of my blogs and that’s okay.  My time is better spent following God’s plan and right now that’s spending time with you.

I have and always will, put everything after you.

You want to chase a train, I’m there!

You want to jump off the dock, non-stop for hours, I’m there!

You want to spend the day taking pictures, I’m there!

Help cut up a watermelon and then devour it, OH YEAH I’m there!

Parades and hot dogs, I’m there!

Memorial Day 2k14 (13)

Face painting war, you bet I’m there!

You want to help me with every project Nana gives me, you’re my number 1 helper. (sorry little buddy, there was no blade in that knife)

You want to go out and pick flowers for momma, I’m right there with ya.

You bring me more joy and happiness than I could ever explain.  I’m sorry I haven’t written more lately, but every moment with you, doing things, being together, enjoying every silly moment, laughing uncontrollably, the epic adventures that only you and I have had, the stories we share, those are the things that I hope I have written on your heart and in your memory.  You and I are doer’s, we show fear no mercy.  One day stories will be told of our exploits and little children will gather in awe.

I love you little man, much more than I can express, just know that you bring me so much joy,  Puppa

Today You Found The Bible

Dear Lincoln,

Today started pretty much like every other Sunday, me in the kitchen making Sunday morning breakfast eggs, juice, coffee and then while Momma and Nana puttered around you played and I read my bible.  But then something happened, something I think was pretty amazing, you came over to me and wanted in my lap and started looking at my bible and started a conversation I did not understand whatsoever.  You became very persistent in trying to tell me something and when I asked you if you wanted me to read to you, you laid back against me and settled in for some storytelling.

I had been reading 2 Samuel but decided to read you some psalms and proverbs.  Your interest and attention to what I read you took me by surprise.  We read for quite awhile and I have to admit, I have never enjoyed reading the bible more than I did today.  I hope this continues, today made my heart smile.

One of the proverbs I read you was proverbs 22:6

“Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.”

Lincoln, a parents goal, your Momma’s goal, is to train their child to lead a godly life.  If you learn to respect authority, love others, and obey God now while your young, the chances are very good that you will stay on that path when you are older.

I hope today was the start of many more bible storytelling moments for us.  I”ll close this letter today with another  proverb that I think is appropriate for you.

“So give your parents joy! May she who gave you birth be happy.”  proverbs 23:25

I love you little man, Puppa

Pure Joy!

Here I come Puppa!

Here I come Puppa!

Dear Lincoln,

The picture may be blurry but I absolutely love it!  We were chasing each other around, hiding behind furniture, yelling, screaming, and laughing like crazy.

I was hiding from you and you found me and started chasing after me and I quickly pointed my iPhone at you and got this shot as I was running away from you.

I can’t tell you how much fun I have with you.

Lincoln, if I had a flower for every time you made me smile and laugh, I’d have a garden to walk in forever.

I love you to the moon and back little man, Puppa

I Love My Puppy!

Dear Lincoln,

It’s late but I wanted to quickly post this photo of you and your “little” puppy.  You two love each other so much.  It’s amazing to watch how you interact with all animals.  You truly have a big heart when it comes to any animal you see.

I’ll write again soon, I love you Lincoln, Puppa
